Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 June 2026
iTechSim (ABN 79 219 012 203), of 5 Bisham Street, Mickleham, Victoria 3064, Australia (“iTechSim”, “we”, “us”), respects your privacy. We collect the minimum information needed to deliver your eSIM and support you on your trip, and we never sell your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (and, where applicable, the EU/UK GDPR).
Information we collect
- Your email address — to deliver your eSIM, send you a secure sign-in (magic) link, and provide access to your order dashboard.
- Order details — the plan, destination, amount paid, and timestamps of your purchase.
- eSIM status data — technical information returned by our carrier/supplier partner, such as activation state, validity, and data usage, so we can show your usage and support you.
- Payment information — processed entirely by our payment processor (Stripe) and the payment method you choose (such as card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link). Your full card details never reach our servers; we receive only a confirmation and a token identifier.
- Technical and usage data — including IP address, browser/device type, and pages visited, collected through cookies and analytics tools (see Cookies and analytics).
How we use your information
- To deliver your eSIM and QR code and provide your dashboard;
- To send transactional emails about your order (confirmation, install reminders, usage and expiry alerts, and refunds);
- To provide customer support, including live chat;
- To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud and misuse;
- To understand and improve how our website performs (analytics); and
- If you have not opted out, to occasionally (no more than once or twice a year) email you about the same or related products. Every such email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
We rely on the following legal bases (where the GDPR applies): performance of our contract with you (delivering your eSIM and support), our legitimate interests (fraud prevention, improving our service, and limited direct marketing of similar products), your consent (non-essential cookies and analytics), and compliance with legal obligations (tax and records).
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes:
- Strictly necessary and functional — a secure sign-in cookie for your dashboard, your currency preference, cookies set by Stripe to process payments securely, and cookies set by our live-chat provider to maintain your conversation. These are always on, as the site cannot function without them.
- Analytics and marketing — we use analytics and measurement tools, which may include Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, to understand how visitors find and use our site and to measure our marketing. These set cookies and may share limited data with those providers. These are only enabled with your consent.
When you first visit, we show a cookie banner letting you accept or reject non-essential (analytics and marketing) cookies. You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in our footer. If you reject them, the site works normally; we simply don’t load those tools.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers needed to run iTechSim, and only so they can perform their function for us:
- Payment processing — Stripe (and the payment networks/wallets you choose at checkout).
- eSIM provisioning — our eSIM supplier, who provisions and manages the eSIM on the carrier networks.
- Email delivery — our transactional email provider, to send your eSIM, magic link, and order emails.
- Customer support — our live-chat provider.
- Hosting and database — our cloud hosting and database providers, where the service and your account data run.
- Analytics and measurement — our analytics providers (which may include Google and Meta), where you have consented.
- Error monitoring — a service-reliability tool that helps us detect technical faults, which may incidentally process technical data such as IP address.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Some of these providers are located outside Australia (including in the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and other countries). Where we transfer personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles and applicable law.
Retention
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may opt out of marketing at any time, by emailing hello@itechsim.com. Where the GDPR applies to you, you also have rights to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. We will respond within a reasonable time and at no charge for reasonable requests.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au, or, if you are in the EU/UK, with your local data protection authority.
